Meet Dan Nolte
County Assessor / Register of Deeds
I am honored that you have elected me to serve you as your Lancaster County Assessor and Register of Deeds for the past three years. As I seek re-election, I am pleased with the progress we have made. We have done outreach to homeowners sixty five and above to let them know about the homestead exemption program they may qualify. In fact, during my leadership in the Assessor/Register of Deeds Office, we have seen a 15% increase in the number of people receiving a partial or full exemption of their property taxes, assisting them with home affordability.
During my time in office, I have ended the three year revaluation for real estate, including homes. No more of a large increase in valuation every three years. Now that we are doing evaluations annually, it brings some stability and predictability to homeowners.
As I look forward to the next four years, we will be implementing a new computer assisted mass appraisal system. This will be replacing a system that has been in place for the past twenty plus years. It will be technology update that will be easier for staff in the field to use and will give us the ability to develop reports easier. And, it is being done with the input of about ten staff from various areas of our office. The top down management of the past doesn’t make any sense in today’s work environment. I want to make sure that those using the system have the tools they need to make their work easier and the best way to accomplish that is with their full involvement.

A clear vision for Lancaster County
Transparent and Accessible Assessments
You shouldn't have to break out a slide rule and an abacus just to understand your property tax assessment. We've expanded access to comparison property information and fight every day to provide clear and easily accessible information.
You Should Be Able to Stay in your Home
The Assessor’s Office must always do more to make sure that you can claim your tax savings. I will make sure our office redoubles our efforts to make sure you get the tax relief and stay in your home.
Property Value Protests
We've expanded remote protest opportunities across Lincoln and Lancaster County and ended the inconvenient practice of forcing residents to be inconvenienced with limited windows. We are going to expand that access so your government is responsive to you.
In the Community
Meeting voters across Lancaster County
No candidate in the race has demonstrated a sustained commitment to being out in the community and hearing from Lincoln and Lancaster County residents about the property assessment issues affecting them the most. And then doing something about it to fix their problems.
